A simple ESD area audit checklist

People

• Wrist straps worn correctly and tested today.
• ESD footwear or heel grounders on, and tested if required.
• ESD garments worn where the programme asks for them.
• Visitors briefed, with a strap or footwear.

Workstation

• Mat or bench surface connected to ground.
• Ground cord and snap in good condition.
• No ordinary plastics, paper or cups near sensitive parts.
• Chairs and trolleys are ESD-safe, or are grounded.

Packaging and handling

• Parts moved and stored in ESD packaging.
• Bags and trays are not damaged or reused when marked single use.
• Tweezers and tools are ESD-safe.

Area and marking

• Floor tape and signs show where the area starts.
• Entry point has a footwear tester or a clear instruction.
• Cleaning products suit the surfaces.

Records

• Test logs are up to date.
• Findings are closed out.
• Training records are current.
